Apologia

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I'm Pierce Thorne, and I'll be your cynic for this evening.

Actually, I'm not sure I can be called a cynic, but people that know me know that I speak my mind, and I don't always use verbal Listerine when I do. Our magnanimous Webmaster has seen fit to give me this tiny corner of cyberspace to expound my errant ramblings. The one stipulation he has is for me to overcome my predilection for certain four-letter adjectives. I'm up for that challenge, and have my on-line thesaurus a mere keystroke away.

Despite the title, I make no apology (realizing that apologia means "explanation" or "defense".) I like the Voltaire quote: "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I'll defend your right to say it." I extend that to all comers, but expect it in return. The way I see it, this is my apartment in cyberspace, and visitors are just that: visitors. I accept that there are alternate views. I am willing to see them. But I don't expect to be muzzled because my view is unpopular, or might offend someone. The PC Police can't bust me for Thought Crime here.
